FOJSS in UK organised a charity Diwali Lunch on 16.10.22. Dr S.Gupta and Dr K. Jain kindly hosted the Diwali Lunch at their residence in Cocicote, Hertfordshire. FOJSS in UK is grateful to the hosts for a wonderful lunch and friends for their valuable donations to the charity.

Extraordinary combined FOJSS board meeting with JSS 16.12.20
This virtual Zoom combined meeting with JSS Bilaspur was convened to review the funding streams and shortfall at JSS, progress on current projects funded by FOJSS, funding proposal for future projects at JSS Bilaspur and follow up on the governance structure at JSS Bilaspur.

On 20th October 2019, FOJSS (UK) celebrated Diwali at their 'Diwali Mela - A Musical Evening & Charity event' at the Woodside Hall in Hitchin. The event was very well attended and heavily enjoyed by the Friends of JSS in UK.
Dr Alok Prasad and Dr Samick Sofat who had previously worked at the JSS Bilaspur made a small presentation highlighting the excellent community health programs undertaken by the JSS in tribal villages of Chattisgarh, India. This was followed by an evening of Bollywood dance and music and an excellent dinner. FOJSS in UK is grateful to all the colleagues and friends for their enthusiastic participation and valuable donation to our charity. The funds will be used to support the surgical training program at JSS Bilaspur.

Year 2018May 2018Dr Shravan Tirunagari recently undertook the arduous North Coast 500 mile Cycle ride in support of FOJSS UK.

FOJSS UK member Dr Sunil Gupta recently celebrated his 50th birthday with his friends and family at his home in London. As well as his birthday, the event was dedicated to the cause of JSS. Dr Sunil Gupta made a small presentation about JSS and its community health programme in central India and urged his colleagues and friends to support JSS and its worthy cause. Significant contributions were raised for which FOJSS UK remains grateful. FOJSS UK thanks him for his immense support to JSS and wishes him a great birthday!
August 2017Chairman board of Trustees FOJSS in UK, Dr Kislay K Thakur visited JSS Bilaspur, India for a week. During his short stay at Bilaspur he observed the working of JSS base hospital in Ganiyari and village health sub centre. He was pleased with the progress of the ICU project and other nursing and medical training programmes supported by the FOJSS in UK.

May 2017In May 2017, Dr Sunil Grover and his friend Dr Kini took the challenge of cycling from John O'Groats to Lands End, a distance of 1000 miles in just 10 days. The ride was to raise the much needed funds for the ICU project at JSS Bilaspur, which is actively supported by the Friends of JSS in UK. Against all odds and inclement weather, he completed this arduous journey in an almost planned time. His adventure was widely supported by the friends of JSS in UK and a grand sum of £10,000 was raised for this noble cause. We congratulate Dr Grover for his extra-ordinary efforts and hope future will see many more friends partaking in such fund raising events.

In Feb 2017 a group of FOJSS UK Anaesthetists and Surgeons visited JSS base hospital in Ganiyari, Bilaspur.

September 2016A group of volunteers represented FOJSS UK at the British Association of Indian Anaesthetists (BAOIA) annual meeting at Leeds Armoury Convention Centre, Leeds on 30th of September 2016. Friends of Jan Swasthya Sahyog (JSS) in UK (working name FOJSS IN UK) is registered as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) on 27th November 2015 by the Charity Commission (Registration No. 1164594).
September 2015First FOJSS IN UK meeting held on 19th of September 2015. The meeting was kindly hosted by Dr Kislay Thakur and Mrs Meeta Thakur at their residence at 42 Wricklemarsh Road, Blackheath, SE3 8DH.
The meeting saw the formal launch of FOJSS IN UK. The Governing Document, Trustee and Executive names were approved. The minutes of this meeting are appended on the website. August 2015Drs S.Gupta and Kapila Jain visit Bilaspur and work at JSS Hospital in Ganiyari, Bilaspur.
June 2015Dr Yogesh Jain founding member of JSS (Jan Swasthya Sahyog – people’s health movement) is invited by the Deputy High Commissioner of India, Dr Virender Paul to deliver a talk on his inspirational healthcare project in Rural and Tribal Chattisgarh in India at the Indian High Commission in London. The meeting held on 5th of June 2015 is well attended by over 50 friends, colleagues and medical school batch mates from All India Institute of medical Sciences New Delhi, now established in UK. The Idea of Friends of JSS IN UK is born.
